The School
The School has maintained high professional standards and a strong research orientation since its foundation by Professor Willoughby in 1946. Many of its graduates hold leading positions in industry and government departments or are full professors in universities. Postgraduate study and research is encouraged in the areas described later, but enquiries and suggestions for other initiatives are welcome as we are alert to the need for evolution.
In particular, we have technical interests in common with the other Engineering Schools (Chemical, Civil & Environmental, Mechanical and Computer Science) and with the Schools of Physics and Applied Mathematics. We are also a core member of the University's Institute of Information Technology and Telecommunications, where we are able to make significant contributions to the enabling technologies essential for developments in this vital area.
Annual Reports
The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Annual Report provides a snapshot of the School each year. It provides information on research projects, notable achievements and those who have helped them happen.
